There are a plethora of activities to do with your friends in Hong Kong, from hiking to staycations to checking out new vegan restaurants and art galleries. You might have already crossed these off your list during the pandemic. If you are looking for something new to do with friends or family, then Hong Kong’s party rooms are the place to be.

There are more than 300 party rooms in Hong Kong and finding the one with the best atmosphere and facilities is not an easy task. So, we’ve rounded up the best party rooms in Hong Kong for planning your next night out. Some party rooms may still be closed due to the government-imposed COVID-19 restrictions, so be sure to check their website or contact them before making your plans.

Chalk Party

Chalk Party is a compelling alternative to drinking at a bar in Lan Kwai Fong (LKF). This colorful black light art studio offers private party rooms in Hong Kong surrounded with neon light and art.

Enjoy unlimited shisha while you and your group chill on the rooftop, taking in the nightlife of LKF from a distance. The indoor party room is equipped with a DJ booth to get you into the right vibes with your favorite music as well as giant-sized games like giant playing cards, giant Connect Four and a five-feet high Jenga puzzle.

A photography service will capture your best goofy moments decked out in black light gear like neon wigs, ribbons, glasses and more. What makes Chalk Party really stand out is that you are encouraged to showcase your creative side by painting on the walls, canvases, body or white T-shirts with black light paint and neon henna.

You can ask Chalk Party to arrange catering services from CaterSpot beforehand, or you can bring your own food to the party. Adding spice to the already spiced-up party venue, Chalk Party allows you to bring as much booze as you want without charging any corking fees. Doesn’t that beat hanging out at a regular bar in Central?

Address: 12 Lan Kwai Fong, Central

Chillax Party is a frequently booked party room located in Kwun Tong. Its popularity can be attributed to a glowing ball pit (which is over 100 square meters) which is home to their Instagram-famous inflatable unicorn (or flamingo at times).

Aside from being a hot spot for the perfect IG photos, Chillax Party also has a host of fun games you can play with your friends. Try out the mega-Jenga to test your balancing abilities or play a range of video games on a variety of consoles like Nintendo Switch, PS4 with VR or Pandora Box Arcade game console. Challenge your friends to competitions, board games, mahjong and darts, and there’s even a 3-in-1 table for billiards, air hockey and table tennis.

Don’t want to just play games? Sing your favorite songs with your friends on the karaoke system or watch a movie broadcast to the projector. The kitchen area provides dinnerware, so you can easily bring your own food to munch on. For dessert, use an ice-cream pan to make rolled ice-cream with your own ingredients. Chillax Party is undoubtedly a fun-filled package with endless options when it comes to the best party rooms in Hong Kong.

Cradle BBQ Party

As the name suggests, Cradle BBQ Party is one of the few party rooms in Hong Kong that allows guests to enjoy a BBQ feast in the outdoor rooftop garden. The sitting area is covered, so there is no fear of rainy weather ruining your plans.

You don’t need to bring your own meat – Cradle BBQ Party’s menu includes different BBQ meal sets to choose from. From seafood options like tiger shrimp to seasoned black pepper pork chops, grilled chicken wings and, of course, an array of vegetables. You can also enjoy ready-cooked meals like the Rosemary Chicken Thigh Skewer, Whole Fresh Sea Bass or a light Salumi and Formaggi Board.

Decorated with beautiful flower walls and an artificial grass floor, the place offers romantic flower garden vibes. Want some beautiful shots taken for your Instagram feed? A hanging chair in between the flower wall and a swing with a four-meter moon hanging behind it make for some Insta-worthy photos.

Once you are done feasting outside, head back indoors with your friends to play myriad games, from mahjong, darts and snooker to poker, mini golf and video games. Cradle BBQ Party is sure to provide a balance of outdoor and indoor activities so you won’t feel like you have missed out on anything.

The provided smart TV with Netflix and YouTube offers an ideal alternative to going to the cinema. Hygge Little Place is the picture-perfect cozy space to spend some quality time with your friends.

Located right behind Sogo in Causeway Bay (CWB), Store Party Room takes you back in time to old Hong Kong with its neon sign boards in Chinese characters and posters of Hong Kong streets on the walls. The laid-back vibes indoors coupled with a terrace overlooking the hustle and bustle of CWB should be enough to allure you. But of course, there is more.

For football fanatics, there’s good news: you can watch live football matches streaming on the TV. There’s also a wide selection of entertainment facilities including an automatic mahjong table, pool table, Switch, darts, karaoke and a balloon bursting game. Choose from numerous board games and card games to play, or enjoy a mini projector for watching movies.

Store Party Room provides snack dishes including cheese tofu, samosas, cuttlefish balls and more. You can also request the venue to arrange for other Western or Asian cuisine options. If you want to unwind after working for a whole week, make plans to visit the Store Party Room with your friends once it’s open for business.
