Hong Kong’s COVID-19 situation has taken a turn for the worse with increasing case numbers leading to heightened government restrictions on social distancing and travel. With these stressful periods, it’s important to seek out breaks to enjoy in the city, even just for a short while. With this, Hong Kong has seen many residents opt for staycations, which grant exactly that – a short and sweet escape away from the city without having to travel.

While Hong Kong may seem fairly small, the region is dense and diverse. Although going to a hotel in the same area that you work and live in may not sound too exciting, a staycation can be a great way to reset, get a change of pace and scenery. Luckily, Hong Kong has plenty of swanky hotels where you can pamper yourself.

Read on for some of the best hotels in Hong Kong for your next staycation. With frequently changing restrictions and rules concerning COVID-19, be sure to check availability in advance through their websites.

You’ll also be situated near the HK Macau Ferry Terminal as well as bus, tram and MTR routes to help you get around easily. Ask about their staycation offers granting a free upgrade to a Harborview Queen or Twin Room with late checkout and other perks.

With Discovery Bay’s nature-filled surroundings and multicultural residential population, the change in atmosphere can give you the sense that you are truly on a trip away from home. Auberge classifies their rooms based on view – choose from unobstructed mountain or ocean views for your staycation.

They have several offers worth checking out, from a Monchhichi-themed staycation to a spa-pampering package to a Valentine’s Day getaway. If you’re looking for a break from the city, Auberge is a top pick.
