The discussion around WFH continues

COVID numbers are mostly dropping around the world, and bosses are trying to get their employees back to the office. And so now many employees are back on site, out of their PJs and all buttoned up.

But some workers are getting annoyed because even at the office, Zoom is still a big part of their day. Some are being offered better benefits than before the pandemic but essentially still doing Zoom calls at work instead of at home.

Key comments:

“We hired so many people over the last two years who just don’t have a sense of how the company works,” said Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai.

“With my team, not all of us go into the office on the same days so if we have a meeting, it’s going to be on Zoom, which is annoying. It’s pointless. Even when we are in the office, we’re not collaborating any more than we would just over Slack at home,” said Maddi Perkins, a 26-year-old who works in the finance industry in Dallas.
