Vladimir Putin vowed to continue Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying that peace talks with Ukraine had hit “a dead end.” Ukraine, for their part, accused the Kremlin of sabotaging the talks. Russia also said that the allegations of war crimes in Bucha were fake. Meanwhile, Western leaders have become more critical of Putin. Joe Biden accused him of genocide against Ukrainians, and France’s Macron said that he’s paranoid and bent on war.
Speaking to constituents on Tuesday, Joe Biden said, “Your family budget, your ability to fill up your tank, none of us should hinge on whether a dictator declares war and commits genocide half a world away.”
“He found himself in Sochi for months, he locked himself down, he had less contact with other thinking,” Macron said, predicting that Putin won’t stop his attacks and needs a military victory before May 9, the day Russia marks its victory in World War II.
