Coffee by day, cocktails by night – C108 launches new bar in Central’s Old Bailey Street

C108, a new cafe and bar founded by four friends, has opened its doors in Central, just steps from Tai Kwun. The name "C108" reflects both coffee and cocktails, as well as the founders' combined age of 108. This new space is the best of both worlds – a cozy spot for daytime coffee that turns into a cocktail bar by night.

With the inspiration of a Mediterranean sanctuary in mind, C108 uses warm, neutral colors and rustic decor to create a laid-back vibe, whether you're just gearing up for the day or winding down after work. The cafe offers specialty coffee drinks during the day and transitions into an intimate bar at night with a curated selection of spirits.

Bar manager Gurung Prasantraj, formerly of Barcode, has put a twist on classic drinks with the bar's menu. Highlights include the Vitamin Sea, a tropical gimlet, and Pete, a modern Bloody Mary. Other standout cocktails are Mr. Cooper, a spicy margarita, and Sorcerer’s, a reimagined Negroni.

As for food, the menu includes tavern-inspired bites like the Patty Melt and Fried Olives. During the day, barista Phoenix Tong leads the cafe, specializing in single-origin beans roasted in-house. Summer options include the refreshing Coconut Mango Blackcino. For light bites, options include the Salmon Bagel and vegetarian Tofu Sandwich, along with pasta dishes like Spicy Tomato Pasta. For sweets lovers, the Mango Pomelo Parfait reimagines a classic Hong Kong dessert.
