Following the success of the inaugural event, The Mira Hong Kong and the Federation of Japanese Sake Industry of Hong Kong are hosting the 2024 Hong Kong Sake Festival from August 14 - 16. Held in the hotel's penthouse ballroom, the festival will feature over 500 types of sake and shochu from 150 breweries across 43 prefectures.
The event includes themed regions of Japan, opportunities to purchase limited-edition sake and workshops for beginners and enthusiasts. Alexander Wassermann of Miramar Group said it's set to be an "extraordinary affair, surpassing all expectations."
During the festival, the ballroom will be transformed with a summer fireworks festival theme. VIP guests will include industry experts, brewery representatives and 2024 Miss SAKE Niigata, so bring your camera for photo opportunities. New to this year’s festival, attendees can purchase or place orders for selected limited-edition sake, which helps support brewers in Ishikawa Prefecture affected by the 2024 earthquake.
The festival also includes unlimited Asian bites, a HK$1,000 gift bag with a custom Riedel wine glass, and the chance to win exciting prizes, such as a one-night stay at The Mira. Micky Chan, Chairperson of the FJSIHK, said, “We are proud to bring to Hong Kong even greater variety of sake and shochu than before, this year featuring Japanese sake from more than 150 breweries from 43 prefectures, making it the largest sake tasting event in Hong Kong.”
