Biden denies sexual assault claims, White House weighs in

In an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Former United States Vice President Joe Biden has denied all sexual assault allegations stating “I’m saying unequivocally, it never, never happened.”

The allegations were made by Tara Reade, a former Senate staffer, who claims that Biden sexually assaulted her in the early 1990s. Until the appearance on MSNBC, Biden had left the allegation denials to his campaign which has just spurred greater speculation surrounding the matter.

Pointing to the inconsistencies in Reade’s allegations, Biden stated that “The former staffer has said she filed a complaint back in 1993, but she does not have a record of this alleged complaint.” Biden also added that he does not “question her motive” and that during his entire career, none of his employees was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

On Friday, Trump touched on the allegations in a podcast interview Friday with Dan Bongino saying, “He’s going to have to make his own decision,” Trump said. “I’m not going to be telling him what to do.”

The president added that it would be a “great thing” if Biden had records that could “dispose” of Reade’s allegation.

In response to Biden’s interview, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that they were “pleased” that Biden went on record and “[followed] the advice” of the president.

When asked by reporters about Trump’s murky past with women and the sexual assault allegations against him, McEnany responded, “The president has always swiftly denied all of these allegations that were raised four years ago. He has always told the truth on these issues. He’s denied them immediately. And you’re bringing up issues, like I said, from four years ago that were asked and answered. And the American people had their say in the matter when they elected President Trump as President of the United States. But you know the media – leave it to [them] to really take an issue about the former vice president and turn it on the president.”
