Ariana Grande’s latest single “Positions” itself at No. 1 on the Billboard and Official charts

Ariana Grande’s “Positions,” the latest single from her album of the same name, rocketed to the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, Billboard Global Excl. US, and Official UK Charts. The lead single from the album became the first song ever to hit No. 1 simultaneously on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US Charts.

Making records

Grande is the first US-born artist to top the Global Excl. US Charts. At the time the song charted on Billboard, it had 98.4 million streams and 44,000 downloads sold globally as of October 29. The 27-year-old artist made history by being the first female artist to top the Global 200 on her own, and overall the third, after “WAP” by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion led for three weeks.

To celebrate, the artist took to Instagram to thank her 205 million followers and entire team for the achievement, while quickly changing the focus toward the US elections, saying “this is such an honor pls vote for biden.”

Ariana Grande’s “Positions" goes viral

The lead single’s music video, directed by Dave Meyers, has also blown up, amassing 61+ million views in just under a week.

According to the Official UK Charts, the singer has had seven UK No. 1 singles so far in her career and is expected to have three of her songs (“Positions,” “Motive” and “34+35”) from the latest album chart within the Official Singles Chart Top 10 this Friday, November 6.
