Although celebrations this year are more restricted, with travel plans having to be postponed or canceled, there are still ways to get that “home away from home” experience in Hong Kong this festive season. With luxurious offers – from gift shops and dining credits to spa treatments, festive delights and holiday activities – we’ve compiled the best holiday staycations in Hong Kong to finish off this long year with a bang.

The Murray is offering two exclusive holiday staycation Hong Kong packages that will surely bring you some joy and cheer this Yuletide season. 

The “Murray Merry December” accommodation package includes daily breakfast for two, a sumptuous festive afternoon tea for two and complimentary overnight parking for one vehicle. Guests will also be able to indulge in the chef’s selection of canapés paired with prosecco, house wines, juices and soft drinks at Murray Lane from 5:30- 8 p.m. 

Get into the festivities and indulge in a luxurious year-end staycation with the “Murray Festive Escapade” package. In addition to the perks of the first package, guests will also be awarded HK$2,000 in dining credits per night for any of the hotel’s restaurants (with the exception of Guo Fu Lou). 

Price ($-$$$) 

The “Murray Merry December” package starts from HK$2,800 per night and is valid for stays from Dec. 1-23. The “Merry Festive Escapade” package covers the key festive dates from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3, with rates from HK$4,888 per night (with the included HK$2,000 dining credits)

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental (LMO) has launched the “Santa Is Callin’” staycation Hong Kong accommodation package which features a host of benefits to guarantee a pleasant and merry experience shared with loved ones. 

Guests can anticipate a round trip limousine transfer, festive amenities curated by LMO, premium gifts from Amorepacific Time Response Experience, Goutal Paris and Magnus & Novus. The package also grants spending credit for the hotel’s restaurants including Amber, SOMM, MO Bar, PDT, in-room dining (except breakfast) or spa treatments for HK$1,000 for L450 rooms, HK$1,500 for L600 rooms or HK$2,000 for a L900 suite.

Enjoy the beautiful and sustainable holiday decorations the hotel has to offer featuring stainless mesh trees decorated with reusable LED lights and an abundant of LMO bespoke Christmas stockings filled with decadent cookies made by members of The Providence Garden for Rehab – a welfare organization that provides job opportunities to the mentally disadvantaged. Guests are encouraged to purchase the Christmas stockings at HK$228 each, as the proceeds will be donated to the Jardin Matheson Group’s MINDSET initiative, which serves to raise awareness of mental health issues.

The “Santa Is Callin’” package is available from Nov. 16 to Dec. 31. It is priced from HK$3,900 plus a 10% service charge per night. 

Festive World – A Nordic Inspiration – The Peninsula

Take your loved ones on a Northern Lights inspired journey this holiday season. The Peninsula invites guests to savor the beauty and magic of a winter wonderland in their cozy guest rooms – complete with a fireplace for harbor view suites – which the staycation Hong Kong package offers. Guests can anticipate viewing a magical and mesmerizing Northern Lights inspired turndown in their guest rooms each evening. 

The “Festive World – A Nordic Inspiration” package offers daily breakfast for two, HK$500 dining credit to use at any of the hotel’s restaurants (Imasa excluded) and a one-way hotel limousine transfer to drop you off for this magical experience. 

The package also includes a choice of one of these historical journeys inspired activities: Motoring Journey which allows guests to inspect and learn about the 1934 Rolls-Royce vintage, Aviation Journey which is an aviation history tour with a visit to the hotel’s helipad for a photo, Grand Dame Journey, a specially curated tour to learn about the many stories and history of the hotel or Cinematic Journey allowing guests to watch their favorite classic films in a unique venue. Guests reserving a stay on Christmas Day can expect a surprise visit from a special guest of honor.
