On Thursday, Hong Kong saw 31,402 COVID cases and 180 deaths.

Key comments:

“This is not the time to immediately lift the [flight] ban. As a result, a lot of people will rush to come back. And inevitably, among some of those people, there will be infected cases. There may even be critically ill cases arising from the returns, and that will add a lot of pressure to our public hospital system," Lam said on Thursday.

“I’ve been here most of my life, through everything, and it’s never come to something like the panic I’ve seen by the public,” said Allan Zeman, the Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group, who is also an adviser to Lam.
