Gaylord, one of Hong Kong's oldest Indian restaurants, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a newly renovated space and an exclusive eight-course tasting menu created by celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Chef Kapoor is a well-known personality in the culinary sector throughout Hong Kong and South Asia and is recognized worldwide for his contribution to Indian cuisine. He has hosted the TV show Khana Khazana, the longest-running show of its kind in Asia and he was the world's first chef to operate a 24-hour food and lifestyle channel.

The eight-course tasting menu is priced at HK$358 per person for the vegetarian option and HK$448 per person for the non-vegetarian option, with a wine pairing option available for an additional HK$188.

The meal begins with a Chili Pineapple Sambal & Poppadum, followed by a selection of appetizers such as the Goan-style Prawn or Mushroom Balchao Puri with Solkadhi, Gaylord's 1972 classic Vegetable Samosa or the Kari Patta Crab Malabari. Tandoori & Kababs come next, with dishes like the fragrant Lemongrass Paneer Malai Tikka and aromatic Stuffed Galouti Kabab roasted in the restaurant's custom-built tandoor oven for a balanced smokiness.

For mains, there is Chef Kapoor's Yellow Chilli and Mango Butter Chicken or his signature dish, Shaam Savera, Spinach and Cheese Koftas over Smoked Pepper Sauce. Each entrée has a generous assortment of accompaniments, including the aromatic Ricotta Cheese and Truffle Naan, Saffron Basmati Pulao Rice or Baby Beetroot and Walnut Raita.

The meal concludes with two desserts: Chef Kapoor's delectable Baked Jaggery Yogurt with Peach and Walnut and Gaylord's classic Kesar Kulfi, a cardamom and saffron-infused homemade ice cream, served with a cup of Masala Tea.
