Fashion enthusiasts, mark your calendars – the much-anticipated Runway Asia event is back for its Autumn/Winter 2023 season, and it's set to be a showstopper!
In collaboration with HK Model Camp, founded by French model Lucie Petit, this marks the 9th edition of this iconic event, promising an evening celebrating local designers, self-confidence and the art of fashion.
“This year's event promises to showcase the incredible homegrown talent shaping Hong Kong's dynamic design scene while also promoting eco-conscious practices,” explains Christopher Lau, the Regional Country Manager of Hong Kong, Thailand and Vietnam at The Flexi Group, the group behind The Hive. “I cannot wait for everyone to experience the energy and spirit of Hong Kong's vibrant artistic landscape all in one place at our biggest Runway yet.”
Aligned with HK Model Camp's own ethos, the event aims to empower individuals to embrace self-confidence by combining modeling techniques with self-esteem development. Speaking about the event, Lucie Petit explains: “In today's social media-driven era, we often compare ourselves to others and question beauty standards. By featuring a wide range of models from different backgrounds, sizes, and ethnicities, we aim to promote inclusivity, encourage self-acceptance and redefine beauty norms. Through this celebration of diversity, we hope to inspire others to feel confident in their own skin and create a more inclusive society with individuals who embrace their uniqueness, style, and self-expression.”
To add an extra layer of excitement, Hong Kong-based dancer, content creator and influencer Anisha Thai's newly-formed dance crew, the Mixies, will headline the intermission performance. Attendees will also have the chance to explore a marketplace featuring a curated selection of creative vendors. The event draws in both influencers and industry leaders, offering these talents the chance to reach a broader and more diverse audience.
The excitement doesn't end with the final strut on the runway. Attendees can present their wristband or lanyard for free admission to the exclusive after-party at Quality Goods Club before 11 p.m.
