Island Shangri-La has welcomed back chef Cary Docherty to the popular Lobster Bar and Grill in Hong Kong. Docherty, known for his innovative take on brasserie fare, has returned with new concepts to entice both regulars and new diners.
“I’m home doing what I love,” said Docherty. “The Lobster Bar and Grill has been here since day one of the hotel’s opening, and I want to respect that heritage and all the memories here. I also want to look towards the future to ensure that we continue to deliver the kind of food and hospitality that will keep people coming back, as it has for generations.”
Docherty's refined classics include the signature Seafood Tower, featuring tiers of lobster, king crab, oysters, prawns and sashimi, as well as Beef Wellington with perfectly cooked fillet steak. The new Sunday Brunch offers appetizers like prawn cocktail and lobster bisque, main courses including roast beef and Boston lobster and desserts such as triple chocolate mud pie and apple tart tatin. Guests can also take their brunch up a notch with a seafood tower and a free-flow drinks package.
The Burger Bar menu features five new options, including the Panko-crusted Alaskan pollock fish burger and a Gourmet Sweetbread burger. For lunch, the restaurant offers a set and à la carte menu from Monday to Saturday, with dishes like Steak Tartare and Grilled Beef.
Evenings transform the ambience with dimmed lights, live music and a full à la carte menu including caviar, crab cake, Dover sole and prime rib. Plan ahead to arrive early and take part in pre-dinner cocktails and an extensive wine list featuring champagne and sparkling wines.
