Executive Chef of Soho House, Krzysztof Czerwinski, will transform food surplus into a gourmet meal at The Rescued Feast.
Following its successful debut back in April, CHOMP and TheMilSource (TMS) are hosting The Rescued Feast – The Second Bite. This event, in collaboration with Soho House Hong Kong, will take place on Thursday, July 25. It aims to transform food waste into a gourmet dining experience, highlighting the importance of sustainability.
Hong Kong discards over 3,600 tonnes of food daily, exacerbating landfill problems and environmental degradation. Despite government efforts like the "Food Wise Hong Kong Campaign," food waste remains a big issue in the city.
The Rescued Feast will turn food surplus into gourmet meals, educating the public on reducing waste. Chef Krzysztof Czerwinski of Soho House will create a menu for 250 people using surplus ingredients. “We can’t wait to take part in this brilliant initiative and provide support that champions reducing food waste in Hong Kong,” says Chef Krzys.
Carla Martinesi, founder of CHOMP, says: "We are incredibly excited to bring back The Rescued Feast. Our mission at CHOMP is to reduce food waste and showcase how surplus food can be transformed into something truly extraordinary."
Krystal Lai, founder of TMS, adds: "I'm amazed by the outpour of support from the community for our Rescued Feast series. These events are just going to get bigger and bigger, and it's inspiring to see so many people come together to tackle the issue of food waste in Hong Kong."
The event is supported by organizations like LSG Sky Chefs, Smoke & Barrel, PermaClub, Jean May and Bon-Eat-O. Raffle prizes are provided by Soho House Hong Kong, Daeria, Emma Wallace, Kapok, Feather & Bone, Tove & Libra, Anaphe, GreenPan and The Blomstre.
