Opening in August 2024, Minato is set to bring a new frontier of Japanese dining to Wan Chai North, near Victoria Harbour. The restaurant blends teppanyaki, omakase and kaiseki styles, creating a refined yet minimalist experience.
Inspired by its name, Minato (港), meaning the connector between land and sea, the restaurant features warm tones and natural materials, offering a serene escape from the busy city streets. Minato's layout includes both tranquil and lively sections, with each teppan station featuring a dedicated chef preparing seasonal ingredients.
Minato's design follows the Japanese concept of “Ma” (間), emphasizing purposeful empty space. This approach enhances the sensory experience for guests, allowing diners to engage closely with the culinary team, with over 30 years of expertise, through live cooking. The menu features fresh seafood and premium beef, with chefs incorporating innovative techniques such as blending teppan beef into sushi rolls. Private dining rooms are also available for groups of six to over 10 for more intimate occasions.
