Veda, Hong Kong's well-known fine-dining Indian restaurant, is evolving as a new concept – Veda Café and Bar. Under the guidance of Avni Jhunjhnuwala, the daughter of the original founder, the café is launching a new, modern menu that emphasizes both flavor and nutrition, an homage to traditional Indian home cooking with contemporary twists.

Standouts range from vibrant salads like the Puffed Rice Salad and Turmeric and Chickpea Caesar to signature South Indian dosas, including the Classic Potato Masala Dosa and the Avocado, Feta, Rocket and Sun-Dried Tomato Dosa. Midday diners should check out the Weekday Dosa Lunch Set.

Main courses include traditional Indian dishes like Yellow Tadka Dhal, a lentil stew with rice, labneh and Indian pickle, and Roasted Aloo Gobi with curry leaf pesto and coconut-lentil stew. Pav Bhaji, a Mumbai street food favorite, offers spicy mashed potato and peas with garlic butter buns.

For lighter bites, try the Paneer Tempura with chili and lime, Pani Puri with its blend of spicy, tangy and sweet flavors, Samosa Chaat with yogurt and chutney or the classic Chilli Cheese Toast with Amul Cheese and Green Chili.

“I want to reintroduce Indian food at Veda and bring it back, closer to the original," said Jhunjhnuwala about her vision for Veda Café and Bar.
