SWOP Society brings autumn clothing exchange to The Women’s Lounge

SWOP Society, a local organization promoting sustainable fashion, is hosting its Autumn Season Swop on Saturday, August 31, at The Women’s Lounge. The event encourages attendees to bring up to 10 clothing items to exchange for "swop credits," which can be used to pick out new pieces from a diverse selection of styles and sizes.
The event aims to reduce the environmental impact of fashion by encouraging participants to refresh their wardrobes without buying new items. Georgie Harvey Ross, the founder of SWOP Society, emphasized the significance of this movement. “Swopping allows us to detox and refresh our wardrobes with value for value and is a financially friendly way to enjoy new (to you) clothing without the environmental impact of creating new textiles,” said Harvey.
