Bali is one of the most sought after tropical destinations in the world, unsurprisingly. The diverse landscape is stunning, and plenty of activities will be enough for you to book that flight to paradise. Bali is a large area with lots to see, so we’ve broken it down to make sure you are prepared for all that Bali has to offer. Here is how to get the most out of your trip to Bali.

The basic info

Bali is a large island separated into 5 sections – North, East, South, West and Central Bali. What you usually see portrayed in the media as quintessential Bali is the southern tip. Although there is a lot to explore on the island, visitors are most often pulled towards this area because of its popularity. Southern Bali alone is usually enough to fill up your itinerary. We will cover some of the essential destinations in southern Bali which are Sanur, Nusa Penida, Ubud, Seminyak and Kuta.

What accommodation should I book?

There are countless hotels scattered across Bali. However, for the full experience, renting a villa is the ultimate accommodation. Only in Bali will you find such luxury at a cheap price, especially if you split the rent with some friends. Almost every Bali villa is equipped with grand pools and lavish bathrooms that are majorly Instagrammable. There are plenty of ways to find your perfect villa, but AirBnb might be your best bet.

Sanur – For peace and quiet

Located on the east coast of southern Bali, Sanur is separated from the Bali bustle. This beautiful stretch of smooth sandy beaches makes a perfect resting spot by the ocean. Sanur visitors are usually less of the party type and prefer instead to enjoy tranquility and serenity. Scuba diving and snorkeling are also popular activities in Sanur, as this side of the coast is teeming with sea life. Sanur is only a 30 minute drive from the center of Bali, so you can still enjoy the energetic city and return for a peaceful night’s rest.

Nusa Penida – Nature’s paradise

Just off the coast from Sanur is the magnificent island of Nusa Penida. Just a boat ride away, it makes for a great day trip to visit one of the most beautiful sites in the world. The ranging mountains and hanging cliffs, tower over the bluest Bali waters. Scuba divers will not only enjoy what’s above the surface, but also what lays below – manta rays. These giant, majestic creatures are local to these waters and dance with the current.

Ubud – The cultural capital

Hear the honking of the scooters as they drive a little too close for comfort while exploring the thin streets of Ubud. Mainly known as the cultural capital of southern Bali, there are a handful of activities you can’t miss. One popular attraction is the famous rice terraces. Looking over the incredible green fields while sipping traditional Indonesian coffee is an adventure of its own. Immerse yourself in the culture by visiting some of the local temples to learn more about Indonesian traditions and history.

Seminyak – The home of Bali tourism

BALI’S EMPTY STREETS AS NATURE RESETS. ⠀ In Bali right now its no surprise the streets are quiet, nature is taking a very overdue breathe of fresher air and the beaches are smiling as the pollution count is continuing to drop. When going out on a rare occasion to do some essential tasks like food shopping its like a different world in some places like the usual red light wait on your daily commute to your favourite restaurant or surf spot. What used to be a never-ending battle for pole position at each and every traffic light stop on your scooter or just waiting for someone to scrape your side in your car as another impatient N-max enthusiast tries to squeeze thru is now a lonely check of the lipstick or facial grooming in the rear vision mirror and onto the next destination. There is some amazing stories coming in from around the world like dolphins spotted in the Venice canals and closer to home the mountains in view from Jakarta for the first time in a very long time due to pollution levels taking a massive dive as we wait for the COVID-19 levels to follow suit.  One thing is certain and that is to enjoy every moment for what it is and let’s all continue to do an amazing job as a community and as a planet combined to stop the spread,  looking forward to the great times ahead. Remember to look after your loved ones, try and stay away from all the negative and fake news while staying at home as that is the best advice anyone can give right now as situations as our situation changes on a daily basis. ⠀ Our featured image is taken on the weekend courtesy of Denpasar now along JL Kayu Jati in the usually busy hustle and bustle of Seminyak, taken from Mexicola looking in an inland direction. Any given day this is a vibrant little connecting street that is jammed with taxi’s, shoppers and food lovers aplenty. ⠀ Read more article here 👇👇 https://baliclubbing.net/local-news/2020/04/20/balis-empty-streets-as-nature-resets/ ⠀ #localnews #bali #seminyak #recovery #tourism #emptystreet #stayathome #covid19

Located on the west coast, Seminyak is the most highly sought after location to stay in Bali with its perfect mix of beach and city. Although it does have its fair share of worldly restaurants and luxury boutiques, Seminyak is also the place where you can buy cheap, authentic gifts for your family and friends back home. The markets that are entwined in the small, vibrant streets remain alive with locals inviting you to visit their stalls.

Kuta – Party central

Just below Seminyak, and on the same stretch of beach, you’ll find Bali’s epicenter for partying and nightlife. But before the sun sets, tourists love to take a dip and observe surfers take on each wave. If you’re up for it, try it yourself – there are plenty of surf shops that offer lessons for every surfing level. After the sun disappears, Kuta beach is transferred into the ultimate night scene. Restaurants and bars line up on the beach, filling the night with music and laughter. From the edge of the beach, you’ll look over miles of colorful umbrellas and bean bag chairs layed on the sand, for the perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment.
