Swop Society is holding its first Circular Fashion Fair on Sunday, June 23, from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the 30th Floor Pool Room at Soho House. The event promotes sustainable fashion through a clothing swap and market stalls for brands like Fenxiang, CREMÉ and Your Style Community.
Attendees can bring up to 10 items to swap for credits to select new-to-them clothing. “Swopping allows us to detox and refresh our wardrobes with value for value and is a financially friendly way to enjoy new (to you) clothing without the environmental impact of creating new textiles,” says founder Georgie Harvey Ross.
Participants are encouraged to review the “how to” guide and “exchange eligibility” standards on the Swop Society website. In addition to the swap, the fair will feature market stalls promoting circular fashion businesses.
“The fashion industry has a major environmental footprint, but we believe there are so many amazing solutions and alternatives emerging,” says Ross. “Our goal with the Circular Fashion Fair is to inspire people to rethink their clothing consumption habits.”
