Asia’s 50 Best Bars returns to Hong Kong with star-studded events

This July, Hong Kong will once again host Asia’s 50 Best Bars, featuring an impressive lineup of events celebrating the region's top mixologists. The Foundry Asia is hosting the festivities, presenting guest shifts and themed collaborations that bring together the industry’s finest.

On July 14, things kick off with Canto Night Takeover at Ser Wong Fun in SoHo, celebrating Cantonese heritage with bartenders Lola Lau, Samuel Kwok, Tiger Irene Leung and Gavin Yeung. Sponsored by The Orientalist Spirits & Altos Tequila, the event will include bar bites by Asia's 50 Best Female Chef May Chow and music by DJ Fabsabs.

July 14 also sees The Warehouse Lobby Bar from Singapore taking over OBP in SoHo, featuring Assistant Bar Manager Jaemin and Hong Kong's Daniel Eun.

The Iichiko Saiten Series runs on July 14, featuring guest shifts by Asia’s top bars. Holly Graham brings Tokyo Confidential to Call Me Al, while Bar Trigona from Kuala Lumpur takes over Mostly Harmless. Sydney’s Re: and Singapore’s Barbary Coast wrap up the series with events at Mostly Harmless and Call Me Al.

The Barstars series debuts in Hong Kong on July 15 at The Green Door, highlighting influential women in hospitality. Hosted by Arlene Wong, the event features 10 prominent female bartenders, including Zana Mohlmann and Chunyanuch Yodsuwan.

Also on July 15, The Daily Tot hosts Tropic Thunder with Bangkok’s Tropic City, ranked #6 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023. Beverage Manager Maikal Gurung will collaborate with Tropic City’s co-founder Philip Stefanescu and bar manager Arron Grendon.

Other highlights include Jay Gray’s Mostly Idle on July 13 and the No Sleep Charlie after-party on July 16 at Artifact. The week concludes with Super Smashed Manhattan on July 17 at Call Me Al, featuring Manhattan Bar’s team from Conrad Singapore Orchard.
